NEWS FLASH!!

The Couples Ministry Holds Leadership Training

The Couples Ministry conducted a Leadership Training for its core and next-generation leaders last May 31 to June 1 at the Punta de Fabian Resort in the scenic town of Baras, Rizal. The training was participated in by about 20 couples who are all active members of the Ministry.

The training was under the theme, “PVPR of Leadership”. PVPR stands for Purpose, Values, Principles, and Roles. Pastor Raymund Ladao opened the training by focusing on the subject, “Purpose-Driven Leadership”. He stressed that while God is our ultimate leader, He has called us to lead as well. He added that as God gives us the calling to rule, He also gives us the authority, the ability, and resources to lead.

Brother Ian Solidum, who had been the Couples Ministry head (with his wife, Cynthia) for many years, shared the purpose of the Ministry. He also underscored that our personal purpose and ministry purpose are intertwined – that it is in finding common leverage areas and in synergizing that we get the full benefit of working for our own purpose and that of the Ministry.

Brother Raymund Sanchez, who is also a respected leader in his local Church and a senior executive in a multi-national Company shared his perspective on how to manage one's priorities and time. He also shared powerful testimonies on how God changed the hearts of people he knew and how God has worked in their lives and in their families.

Further into the training, Brother Alfred Villapol led the group in an exercise to help them identify and understand their God-given gifts which they can use in God's work.

Brother Paolo Pacis shared and explained the Principles of leadership and alternately, with Pastor Ed Soriano, led the team in analyzing a few cases on Principle-based decision-making.

The second training day began with praise and worship singing led by Brother Ricky Sevilleja. Pastor Raymund then shared perspective on how to develop qualities that set Christian leaders apart from others. The module is entitled, “The Heart of a Leader”.

Toward the conclusion, Brother Anchit Idian spear-headed the discussion on the Roles Of An Effective Leader. He specifically shared on the leader's responsibility to envision, enable, and energize the other members of the team.

The training culminated with the next-generation leaders committing to specific responsibilites within the ministry. The team went home with the next-gen leaders agreeing to meet separately to discuss their priorirites for the remaining part of the year.

It was a blessed and fulfilling event for the Couples Ministry. The glory and honor belong to our Almighty God!
