NEWS FLASH!!

One-Day Treat For Young Couples Held

August 30, 2008 was another milestone for the Couples Ministry. 20 young couples from the different congregational services attended a special one-day seminar (treat) under the auspices of the Couples Ministry of the Word for the World Christian Fellowship. Our pastors recommended young couples (please see their attached pictures) to attend this whole day session whose intent was to share biblical insights on how the young participants can improve their marital relationships.

Pastor Raymund and Sister Didith Ladao ushered in the activity by sharing their thoughts about marriage and invited the couples to participate actively to get the most from the 'One-day Treat'. Pastor Ed and Sister Chambi Soriano led the attendees to self-discovery of their uniqueness and differences (and that of their spouses) in the module entitled, "Thank God We're Different!".

Brother Roderick and Sister Glenda Pascual, one of our home grown couple-talents, focused on the topic, "Love Language" which was capped by their shared testimonies as husband and wife. Our guest speakers, Pastor Jay and Sister Remy Banzuelo, honored the Ministry and the Church with their presence and sharing on the subject, Marriage Communications. The talk which was entitled, "Reading Between the Lines" was delivered intermittently with workshops on communications.

The one-day treat culminated with a refreshing dinner which also featured, Brother Jason and Sister Monica Balibay in an enthralling song number. To get also the participants to gel, they were, divided into 5 groups and were asked to make a 2-3 minute presentation each on their single most important insight or realization for the day.

Brother Anchit and Sister Mayven, the Couples Ministry servant- leaders thanked all who participated and supported this iniative which was spear-headed by Brother Ron and Sister Tess Nicolas. These included among others, the whole Ministry Music Team led by Brother Ricky Sevilleja and Sister Chambi Soriano; the masters of the program and games, Brother Greg and Sister Sarah Toreja, and the Logistics Support group, headed by Bro. John and Sister Ethel Lim. Sister Cynthia Solidum led the praise and worship.(and Brother Ian, did the opening prayer.)

The recurring message for the entire day was that for the marriage to work, it does not just take the husband and the wife. Indeed, it takes three - it takes three to make one. It takes God to complete us in our union. It was a blessed day for all of us. To God be the glory!
